Resetting CBS With the Diagnosis System
Resetting CBS With the Diagnosis System
It is possible to reset the CBS items with the diagnosis system under the following path:
-->Diagnosis
-->Function selection
-->Service Function
-->Maintenance
-->CBS reset
The individual CBS items are represented in the diagnosis system with the service counter and their service life.
- During the reset, the service counter is increased by one. In new vehicles all service counters are set to "1".
- Service life is set to 100% by the reset. Generally it indicates the degree of wear of the item. The greater the availability, the farther away the next service appointment. 0% means that the service item must be carried out.
NOTE:
- Every reset causes the service counter of the respective item to be increased by one. The service counters are used in the item-specific SAM to monitor additional work.
- Resetting with the diagnosis system has the advantage of correcting the on-board date automatically.
- Items with more than 80% availability can also be reset in the diagnosis system.
- It is also possible to reset the CBS items via the instrument cluster.
- It is only possible to encode or decode the -vehicle or -emissions item via the diagnosis system.
Important!
- In order to be able to properly check or correct the vehicle on-board date, the tester system date of the diagnosis system must be set correctly.
- Resetting the values must only be carried out after the service measure has been carried out.
- It is only possible to reset the brake pad displays when the brake pad wear sensor is new.
