51 16 221 Replacing A Clipped Finisher (Decorative Strip On Panel For Instrument Panel, Front Or Rear Door)

Special tools required:
- 00 9 321

WARNING:
- Version with side airbag, head airbag, passenger airbag:
- Follow safety instructions for working on cars with airbag systems.







Replacing clips (Hutfix):
Lift out clip (1).

Installation:
Clip (1) must not be damaged.







Left decorative strip on steering column:
Insert special tool 00 9 321 (fishbone) at side and unclip decorative strip (1) next to retaining pin (2).







Installation:
Pin (1) of decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.







Right decorative strip on steering column:
Insert special tool 00 9 321 (fishbone) at side and unclip decorative strip (1) next to retaining pin (2).







Installation:
Pin (1) of decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.







Decorative strip above glovebox:
Insert special tool 00 9 321 at side and with second special tool 00 9 321 next to retaining pin unclip decorative strip (1).







Installation:
Pin (1) of decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.







Decorative strip on front door:
Insert special tool 00 9 321 at side and with second special tool 00 9 321 next to retaining pin (2) unclip decorative strip (1).
At front in area (3) of inside door handle, pull decorative strip (1) out of guides.







Installation:
Pins (1) and mounts (3) of decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.







Installation:
First slide decorative strip (1) with guides (2) into recessed handle (3) and then clip in.







Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty grommets (1) on door trim panel (2).







Decorative strip on rear door:
Insert special tool 00 9 321 at side and with second special tool 00 9 321 next to retaining pin (2) unclip decorative strip (1).
At front in area (3) of inside door handle, pull decorative strip (1) out of guides.







Installation:
Pins (1) and mounts (3) of decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.







Installation:
Slide decorative strip (1) with guides (2) into grip shell (3) and then clip into place.







Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty grommets (1) on door trim panel (2).
