Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Removing and Installing/Replacing Hydraulic Unit For DSC
Note:
Read and comply with General Information.
First read out fault memory of control unit and if necessary print diagnostic trouble code.
Installation:
- On completion, carry out following tasks:
- Function check, hydraulic unit
- Coding for a new control unit
- Adjustment of steering angle sensor
- End-of-tape test for new control unit
- Bleed brake system
Load and block brake pedal with pedal support.
M62: Remove equipment carrier.
M54: Remove intake filter housing.
If necessary, detach auxiliary water pump with holder from body.
Disconnect electric connection and press auxiliary water pump to one side.
Detach plug connection to control unit.
Detach brake lines.
Caution: Do not mix up brake lines, mark prior to removal if necessary.
Installation:
Pipe connections
(V) from THZ circuit F to hydraulic control unit circuit F (front axle circuit)
(R) from THZ circuit R to hydraulic control unit circuit R (rear axle circuit)
(FR) from hydraulic control unit FR to front right wheel brake
(FL) from hydraulic control unit FL to front left wheel brake
(RR) from hydraulic control unit RR to rear right wheel brake
(RL) from hydraulic control unit RL to rear left wheel brake
- Brake hose couplings
- M10 x 1 14 Nm
- M12 x 1 14 Nm
Unlock plug connection on pressure sensor and detach. Release screw and remove hydraulic unit.
Installation:
- Bracket, Hydraulic unit to body 8 Nm
Release screws and convert bracket.
- Bracket to hydraulic unit 8 Nm
