Removing and Installing/Replacing Master Brake Cylinder For DSC
Removing and Installing/Replacing Master Brake Cylinder For DSCCaution: After finishing work: Bleed brake system.
Read and comply with General Information.
Remove cover in luggage compartment and remove grounding strap from body.
Remove expansion tank.
Remove heater bulkhead.
Remove positive support point at partition wall on left.
Unclip Bowden cable for engine hood locking.
Pull wiring harness upwards out of partition wall.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Release screws (1).
Remove rubber mount for windshield washer unit (2).
Pull out partition wall.
Unfasten brake pipes.
Installation:
- Brake hose couplings
- M10 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
- M12 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
Remove cover (1) from line aperture.
Pull the vacuum hose (3) off of the brake unit.
Release hexagon nuts (1) and withdraw master brake cylinder (2) from brake booster (3).
Installation: Replace self-locking nuts.
- Brake master cylinder to brake booster (Vacuum) 26 Nm
Installation: Replace O-ring (1).
Installation: When inserting master brake cylinder (2) in brake booster (1), make sure: Pressure rods of brake booster (1) and master brake cylinder (2) must lie in one plane.
