Remove & Install Front L or R Brake Caliper
Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or Right Brake CaliperRemove wheels.
Caution: After completing work: Bleed brake system.
Apply pedal support and press brake pedal slightly. This prevents brake fluid from emerging from the expansion tank and air from entering the brake system after the brake lines have been detached.
Disconnect brake pipe from connection with brake hose.
Left: Remove connector for wear indicator.
Installation:
Tighten brake hose on brake caliper.
If the brake hose was pulled from the mounting fixture during removal, make sure it is positively attached when installed!
- Brake hose couplings
- M10 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
- M12 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
Set steering to straight-ahead setting.
Screw brake hose to brake line, ensuring that brake hose is not twisted.

- M10 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
- M12 x 1 18 ± 1 Nm
Unscrew bolts (1) and remove brake caliper.
Installation:
- Brake caliper to steering knuckle 110 Nm
- Screws slightly oiled, contact surfaces between brake caliper and steering knuckle cleaned and grease free.
