Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair
51 33 000 Removing And Installing/Replacing Power Window Unit In Left Or Right Front Door (Convertible, Coupe)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove door window glass
Adjust window lift fully towards bottom.
IMPORTANT: Disconnect plug connection (1) from power window motor (2) (risk of trapping).
Installation:
Convertible from build date 09/2003:
Carry out normalization.
Unhook cables (3) from clips (1 and 2).
Release clip (2).
Unscrew nuts (4).
Set down rear power window unit (5) at bottom in door.
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
2AZ Window regulator to door 9.5 Nm
Note: Replace nut (self-locking)
NOTE: The work for "Removing/replacing door lock (51 21 090)" ends here.
Release nuts (1).
Feed power window unit (2) with drive mechanism (3) completely out of door.
Installation:
Replace self-locking nuts.
2AZ Window regulator to door 9.5 Nm
Note: Replace nut (self-locking)
Installation:
Check rear support for door window glass:
Rubber ring (1) must not be brittle, replace if necessary.
Cover (2) must not be folded back.
If cover (2) is folded back, adjusting cam (3) is outside guide.
Installation:
If necessary, open cover.
Lay adjusting cam (1) in guide (2) of support (3).
Fit cover.
NOTE: For purposes of clarity, shown here on removed window lift.
Installation:
Adjusting window lift:
- Insert window lift in front door
- Tighten down nuts (1) on rear power window unit rail (2)
- Insert nuts (3 and 4) of front power window unit rail (5) but do not tighten down
- Adjust mounts (5) upwards into installation position and install door window glass
- Adjust door window glass fully towards bottom
- Tighten down nuts (3 and 4) of front power window unit rail (5)
- Adjust door window glass
Replacement:
Release screws (1).
Turn power window motor (2) a little and remove.
Installation:
1AZ Motor to window regulator 4.5 Nm
