54 21 005 Fitting Hard Top (Repeat Fitting, Without Adjustments)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Lower all door windows and fold sun visors downwards
- Open convertible top completely and stow in convertible top compartment
- If necessary, remove rod antenna







While convertible top compartment lid is still open, unclip trims above hard top locating points towards rear.
Close convertible top compartment lid.

NOTE: Store trims in designated holder in rear covers in hard top.







Open locking lever on hard top at front:
- Press release knob (1) and open lever (2) as far as it will go.







Open fastener on hard top at rear:
- Open covers at rear left and right.
- Open locking lever as far as it will go in direction (A).

NOTE: Insert previously removed trims in holder for safe storage.







Place hard top with aid of a second person on mountings.

NOTE: Make sure mountings are exactly seated in designated take-ups.

Close locking lever.
Check gap dimensions.
If necessary, check for leaks (e.g. with sound measuring instrument, refer to BMW Equipment Catalog).
