51 16 340 Removing And Installing/Replacing Lock For Right Glovebox







Release screws (1).
All models except Convertible:
Remove upper section (2) and lower section of lock.
Remove lower section of lock.
Convertible with servodrive on upper section of lock (2) only:
If necessary, disconnect plug connection on upper section of lock (2).
Remove upper section (2) and lower section of lock.







Convertible with servodrive on glovebox carrier only:
Unlock catches (1) and lever out microswitch (2).
Remove lower section of lock (3).
Convertible with servodrive on upper section of lock only:
Disconnect plug connection and remove upper section of lock (3).







Replacement only, all models except Convertible:
Insert vehicle key in lock cylinder (2).
Break open locks (1) if necessary and pull out lock cylinder (2) with vehicle key.







Replacement only, Convertible:
Insert vehicle key (1) in lock cylinder.
Release control cap (2) with screwdriver from lock (3).







CAUTION: Key (1) must insert into lock cylinder (3) otherwise lock cylinder will be destroyed during removal.

Break open catches (2) if necessary and pull out lock cylinder (3) with vehicle key (1).







CAUTION: Key (2) must insert into lock cylinder (1) otherwise lock cylinder will be destroyed.

Installation:
Lock cylinder (1) must be in this position.
Journal (3) of control cap (4) must be in this position on lock (5).
Push lock cylinder (1) with key (2) into lock (5) in this position only.
