Entering A Retrofit In The Service Data

On vehicles from production date 3/99 , the groups of control modules with diagnostic capabilities are stored in the service data This information is read out during vehicle identification and the vehicle equipment determined (short test).

Control module groups: A control module group is used to check a certain number of control modules under a diagnosis address to determine what variant is installed.

After retrofitting and installing an additional control module this group must be subsequently entered in the service data.

Procedure
The retrofit selection is entered via the control number block. There is no allocation to the model series in the selection.

The entry can then be checked by repeated vehicle identification and a definition of the vehicle equipment.
