DSC Warning - Various SZL FCs Stored

MODEL
E90/E91 (3 Series), E60/E61 (6 Series), E63/E64 (6 Series)

SITUATION

The DSC warning shows in the Instrument Cluster. An amber "BRAKE" warning may also be displayed.

The following SZL (Steering Column Switch Sensor) fault codes are stored:

^ 5E43 LWS (Steering Angle Sensor) internal fault.

^ 94B4 - F-CAN LWS sensor failure

^ 94B5 - F-CAN LWS sensor failure

^ 94B6 - F-CAN LWS sensor failure

or

^ A85D Faulty LWS (E60/E61/E63/E64 only)

CAUSE

Faulty LWS

^ Contamination of internal optic disk - optic disk material change expected approx. April 2006.

or

^ Processor programming error (E60/E61/E63/E64 only) corrected on parts dated 03.12.05 (Dec 3, 2005).

Note:
The part production date is shown on the lower left corner of the bar code label.

CORRECTION

Replace the SZL.
