SUBJECT
Replacement 0C3 Mat Must Be Coded

MODEL
E90 (3 Series)

SITUATION
When installing a replacement 0C3 seat mat in the E90 with MRS5 safety system, the enabling procedure has been changed. However, the DIS tester incorrectly retains a procedure to "Enable" the seat mat.

Note:
If by mistake, the DISPlus/GT1 is used to enable the seat mat in "Diagnosis" (Function Selection/Body/Seat occupancy detection, passenger/Enable seat occupancy mat), the Fault Code 93C5 (System not enabled) will be set in the Mk55 control module.

CAUSE
Error in DIS tester software.

CORRECTION
The DIS software will be corrected with DIS V43.1.

PROCEDURE
To complete an 0C3 mat installation:

^ Code the complete vehicle using CII). Refer to SI B09 05 01 (Coding, Individualization and Programming), Procedure E.

^ Switch ignition "off" for a minimum of 10 seconds.

^ Switch ignition on

^ Delete any Fault Codes.
