SUBJECT
MOST Bus is Inoperative or Central Information Display has Reduced Brightness
MODEL
E90 (3 Series) from SOP to 09/2005
SITUATION
The MOST bus is inoperative or the Central Information Display (CID) has reduced brightness intermittently.
The fault code "A46A" is stored in the CID fault code memory.
CAUSE
The 2-stage over-temperature protection function has been activated in the CID.
INFORMATION
Do not the replace the CID.
[NEW] Using Progman V20.0 or a later version, the over-temperature threshold can be raised from +80° Celsius to +120° Celsius by programming the CID.
