Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove
storage compartment 51 16 200 Removing and Installing Storage Compartment
- Move front seats back completely and lower
- Disconnect
negative battery cable 61 20 900 Disconnecting and Connecting Battery Negative Lead
- Remove
fixture for steering column stalk 61 31 006 Removing and Installing/Replacing Fixture For Steering Column Stalk
- Remove both
trims for front roof pillar Removing and Installing/Replacing Panel for Roof Pillar at Front (A-pillar), Left or Right
- Remove
trim panel for pedal assembly 51 45 185 Removing and Installing/Replacing Panel For Pedals
- Remove
instrument cluster Service and Repair
- Remove
light operator unit Service and Repair
- Remove
decorative strip on instrument panel on right 51 45 380 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Right Decorative Strip on Instrument Panel
- Remove
operator unit for heater/air conditioner
- Remove
insert for radio control key Service and Repair
- In appropriate version:
- Remove
radio receiver 65 11 080 Removing and Installing/Replacing Radio Receiver
- Remove
audio system controller 65 12 200 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Audio System Controller
- Remove
Car Communication Computer 65 83 010 Removing and Installing/Replacing Car Communication Computer
- If necessary, remove
on-board monitor 65 82 050 Removing and Installing/Replacing On-board Monitor
- Remove
right glovebox with housing 51 16 366 Removing and Installing Right Glovebox With Housing
- Remove
speaker 65 13 060 Removing and Installing/Replacing Speaker (Mid-Range Speaker, in Instrument Panel
- If necessary, remove
solar sensor Service and Repair





Unfasten screws (1 and 3).

Pull back instrument panel trim (2) in direction of arrow.
Disconnect available plug connections and remove instrument panel trim (2).






Installation Note:
Make sure guides (2) on instrument panel trim (1) are correctly seated in respective mountings.
Make sure seals are correctly seated on air ducts.
