Replacing Radial Seal On Manual Shift Valve Shaft (A5S 325Z)

Note: After completing work, check transmission oil level and top up if necessary.

Move selector lever to "P" setting.





Brace clamping bush (1) and loosen nut (2).

Installation:
Adjust selector lever, refer to 24 00 017.





Brace cable on hex head (1) and loosen nut (2).
Remove cable from bracket.

Installation:
Tightening Torque, refer to Technical Data 25 16 1 AZ.





Slacken nut (1).
Remove shift lever (2).

Installation:
Tightening Torque, refer to Technical Data 24 51 1 AZ.





Unfasten screws and remove position switch from the manual shift valve shaft.

Installation:
Pay attention to locating pin and cable routing.





Remove radial seal with special tool 24 5 260 from transmission housing.





Installation:
Fit special tool 24 5 490 to the manual shift valve shaft.

Coat sealing lip of new radial seal (1) with transmission oil.

Slide radial seal onto manual shift valve shaft.





Installation:
Press radial seal into transmission case with special tool 24 5 250.
Pull special tool 24 5 490 off manual shift valve shaft.
