34 41 003 Removing and installing/replacing handbrake lever with mounting pan





Special tools required:
^ 32 1 030

Note: After completing tasks, adjust handbrake.





Necessary preliminary tasks:
^ Remove propeller shaft.
^ Remove handbrake lever trim.

Important:
The handbrake handle must be protected against damage when the mounting pan is fed out downwards.
The handbrake handle must also be replaced when the adjuster unit (ASZE) is replaced.

Lock adjuster unit (ASZE).
Using special tool 32 1 030, press stop (1) of adjusting spring back until restraining hook (2) snaps into place in stop (1).

Release one wheel stud.
Bring wheel into position (tapped hole turned down approximately 20° from horizontal). F = direction of travel
Installation:
Reinstall wheel stud only after handbrake has been adjusted.






Nipple (1) and expander lock (2) are visible through tapped hole.
Push in core of handbrake cable in direction of expander lock as far as it will go and grip firmly.
Press nipple (1) downwards through tapped hole with a screwdriver.





Installation:
Insert handbrake cable in brake carrier/brake guard plate.
Sleeve must be inserted up to stop.
Nipple of handbrake cable must audibly snap into place in expander lock.





Unclip handbrake cables from fixture (1).
Release screws (2) and lower mounting pan a little.
Installation: Replace self-locking nuts.






Press retaining lug (1) downwards and pull out cable (2).
Feed out mounting pan towards bottom. 3
Pull handbrake cables out of rear axle guide.
Installation: Replace seal (3).

Unclip mounting clip (1) upwards out of balance arm (2).





Feed handbrake cables (1) inwards with a screwdriver and pull out of balance arm (2).
