Quarter Window Regulator: Service and Repair

51 37 000 Removing And Installing Complete Electric Window Lift At Rear (Convertible) Left Or Right

Remove body molding on side wall at rear.
Remove outer window cavity cover strip for rear door window.







Release screws (1) and remove window cavity cover strip (2).
Close side window.







Tape off bore with adhesive tape (1) (damage to paintwork).
Slacken screw (2), turn clockwise with Torx E7.







Disconnect plug connection (1).
Unlock housing to gain access to screw (2).







Insert screws (1) and (2) completely.
Distances:
C 0 mm
D 0 mm







Close window completely.
Disconnect or unclip cable tie (1).
Lift out cable grommet (2).
Remove window regulators by lifting upwards.







Lift cable holder (2) out of window lift (1).
Disconnect plug connection (3) and remove window lift (1).







Installation:
Preadjust measurements (C) and (D) (window glass breakage); only then should you actuate the window lift.
Distances:
C 12 mm
D 13 mm







Installation:
Close rear door window and carefully close front door.
Preset distance (A) under seal (1) at rear to edge of door window (2) at rear.
Tighten screw (3).
A 23 ...25 mm
Adjust rear side window.
