Installing Replacement Transmission (S6S 420G SMG)
Note: After completing work:
^ Proceed in accordance with test program, refer to "Service Functions" in DIS Tester.
^ Check transmission fluid level. Service and Repair
^ Check fluid level in hydraulic system. Read out fault memory and clear fault entries.
Caution:
^ A breaking-in inspection including an oil change is required after 2000 km. Use only the approved gear oil in this manual transmission.
^ Transmission must be filled with Lifetime oil.
^ Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the transmission.
Recycling:
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Drain gear oil at oil drain plug.
- Tightening Torque 23 00 4AZ
- Depressurize hydraulic system. Procedures
- Remove transmission. Removing and Installing
NOTE:
Actuator remains fitted to transmission.
Release union screws (1...3) of hydraulic lines on actuator.
Tightening Torque, 21 52 7AZ
Disconnect plugs (4) and (5).
NOTE:
Release screw ().
Installation:
Replace screws (1).
Convert following parts from previous transmisison to new transmission:
- Release bearing and release lever.
- Ball pin and spring wire clip.
- Studs for clutch slave cylinder.
- Transmission breather cap (as per sticker on transmission).
Add final details to vehicle.
Check transmission oil level.
