54 34 040 Removing And Installing/Replacing Control Unit (On Convertible Top)

Follow instructions for repairing hydraulic system.
Remove convertible top.

CAUTION:
- Risk of damage:
- A small amount of hydraulic fluid emerges when the hydraulic lines are detached. Have absorbent cloths ready.







Disconnect hydraulic lines at top from control unit:
- Release screw (1) and turn tab washer (2).
- Remove hydraulic lines.







Disconnect hydraulic lines at side from control unit:
- Bend plastic retainers (1) back from hydraulic line and detach sideways.
- Turn lock (2) and remove hydraulic lines.







Unfasten screws.

CAUTION:
- Risk of damage to electric plug connections:
- Grip control unit firmly, do not drop it.







Pull off connectors.

Installation:
Connect up plugs according to color coding.
