Checking Front Disks For Runout and Thickness Variation

Note: Wheel bearing clearance must be in order for this test, refer to specifications.





Mount brake disk with two bolts.
Press brake linings back - they must not touch the brake disk!
Secure special tool 00 2 510 with special tool 00 2 470 /480 to spring strut.
Apply dial-gauge tip on outer edge of brake disk with light preload.
Turn brake disk slowly and read off lateral runout, refer to Technical Data.





Measure thickness difference within brake surface at approx. 8 points with micrometer, refer to Technical Data.
