51 43 013 Replacing Upper Section Of Side Trim Panel At Rear (Convertible) Left Or Right

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove side trim upper section at rear

NOTE: Cover for frame aperture: treat guide with protecting spray.







Release screws (4) and remove cover (5) for frame aperture.

Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty clips (1) on upper section of side trim panel (3).
Acoustic insulation (2) must not be damaged.







Replacing cover (1) for frame aperture:
- Push out frame outlet flap (4), pressing guide apart somewhat in so doing.
- Disconnect spring (5).
- Pull off cover (3) for hardtop frame completely to rear.
- Replace clip (2).







Treating guide (2) of cover for frame aperture with protecting spray:
- Press frame outlet flap (1) towards rear.
- Clean contact surfaces (2) to remove all traces of dirt.
- Treat contact surfaces (2) (left/right) with BMW Universal protecting spray.
- Move frame outlet flap (1) several times (carry out function check).
- If necessary, clean trim panel parts to remove all traces of spray dust.
