Replacing Counter-Support Plate-Front Seatbelt Height Adjuster




Removing And Installing/Replacing Counter-Support Plate On Seatbelt Height Adjuster, Front Left Or Right







Remove inertia reel unit.
Unclip panel (1) on cable entry.







Release screws (1) simultaneously so that seatbelt height adjuster (2) does not tilt.

Installation:
Tightening torque.
12AZ Screw of seatbelt height adjuster to counter-support plate
E53 31 Nm

Remove seatbelt height adjuster (2).







Release upper retaining screw (1) on counter-support plate.

Installation:
Tightening torque.
10AZ Counter-support plate to body, B- and C-pillars
E53 39 Nm

NOTE: Two wire ends (welding wire) dia. approx. 1 mm and approx. 1 m long are required for the following work steps.

Bend first wire end (2) to an eye.







Screw eye (1) to upper retaining screw on counter-support plate at top (2).







Slacken lower retaining screw (1).
Bend second wire end (2) to an eye.
Pass wire from above through B-pillar.

Release lower retaining screw (1).

Installation:
Tightening torque.
10AZ Counter-support plate to body, B- and C-pillars
E53 39 Nm







Screw eye to lower retaining screw on counter-support plate at bottom (2).







NOTE:
Representation of opened B-pillar:
Counter-support plate (1) must be routed past reinforcement plate (2) downwards through opening (3).







Feed counter-support plate (1) downwards out of B-pillar.

Installation:
Screw counter-support plate replacement to wires and pull through B-pillar into position.
