Radius Arm Bushing: Service and Repair

31 12 138 Replacing rubber mounts on both tension struts

Special tools required:
^ 31 3 031
^ 31 3 032

Important! Always replace both rubber mounts!
Rubber mounts of tension struts may only be changed once!





Remove tension struts.

Important! If the tension struts already feature an identification mark with a center punch, it is necessary to replace both tension struts.

Mark tension struts with a punch mark in area (A).





Press rubber mount out of tension struts using a press and special tool 31 3 031/31 3 032.

Installation:
Keep rubber mount and tension strut bore free from grease.
Marking on rubber mount points towards marking on the tension strut.
Maximum torsional tolerance (A) ± 5°.





Installation:
Protrusion (A) equally large.
