Replacement Convertible Top Canvas Covers

MODEL
E85 (Z4 Roadster) produced up to 10/2002

SITUATION
Replacement convertible top canvas covers cannot be fitted to convertible top frames in vehicles produced prior to 10/2002.

The replacement part does not have the additional plastic mounting tabs, located on the sides of the canvas, near the front corners, which was used on the earlier version, and therefore cannot be secured to the existing frame.

CAUSE
Unification of replacement convertible top canvas covers.

CORRECTION
The complete convertible top (frame & cover) must be replaced on vehicles produced up to 10/2002.

PROCEDURE
Replace the complete convertible top per repair instruction RA 54 34 101.

PARTS INFORMATION
Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for the appropriate current convertible top part number.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
