SUBJECT
Popping Noise from the Loudspeakers
MODEL
[NEW] E85 (Z4) with DSP amplifier, vehicles produced from 10/2002 to 05/2003
SITUATION
Popping noise from the loudspeakers when turning the radio on.
[NEW] CAUSE
Software error in the DSP amplifier.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis only, replace the DSP amplifier with SW # 09 or later.
Refer to Repair Instruction RA 65 12 072, Removing and installing (replacing) the DSP amplifier (Top hi-fi sound system).
To open the Repair Instruction, go into TIS to Repair Information, select "Z'E85 " and a model. Then select "Search for document title" and enter "amplifier". NOTE: (The path "Search for document numbers" may not be working).
