Center Support: Service and Repair

Replacing complete center bearing in propeller shaft
Remove propeller shaft, refer to Drive/Propeller Shaft, Service and Repair.

Caution: Propeller shaft is balanced as a unit.





Mark front propeller shaft in relation to rear propeller shaft.





Unscrew bolt (1). Pull propeller shaft apart.

Installation:
Thread free from grease.

When sliding together, ensure that marks are all aligned with one another.

Insert bolt (1) with thread-locking liquid.

Tightening Torque, refer to Specifications.





Remove shim and dust gaiter.





Remove center mount with special tool 00 7 500/ 33 1 307 and standard extractor tool.





Drive new center bearing firmly home with special tool 24 0 090 or 24 1 050.

Note:
Bearing inner race diameter 30 mm, use special tool 24 0 090.
Bearing inner race diameter 35 mm, use special tool 24 1 050.
