Replacing Radial Seal For Output Flange (S5D 200G/ 250G)
Special Tools Required:

Note: After completion of work, check transmission oil level.

Caution:
^ Use only the approved gear oil in this manual transmission.
^ Failure to comply with this requirement will result in serious damage to the transmission.

Unflange propeller shaft from transmission and tie up to one side.





If necessary, lift out retaining plate (1).

Installation:
Do not fit retaining plate.





Brace output flange with special tool 23 0 020.

Release collar nut with special tool 23 1 210.

Installation:
Install collar nut with screw retaining compound.





Detach output flange with special tool 33 1 150 from output shaft.

Installation:
For transmissions from year of manufacture 01/99: heat output flange to approximately 80°C, e.g. with a hot air blower. Slide output flange onto the output shaft.





Remove radial seal with special tool 00 5 010.





Coat sealing lips of new radial seal with transmission oil.

Drive in radial seal flush with special tool 24 0 110.
