Rear Cross-Member Bushing: Service and Repair

Replacing left or right rubber mount for rear axle carrier (compact, Z3)

Note:
Operation is identical to removing rear axle carrier, refer to 33 31 000.
Do not disconnect hand-brake cables.
Lower rear axle about 20 cm.





Pull out rubber mount using special tools 00 8 550/33 3 107/111.
If necessary, heat rear axle carrier beside rubber mount with an industrial hot air blower.





Coat new rubber mount with Circolight or equivalent and pull in with special tool 33 3 103/104/112/115.
Installation position: Recess on rubber mount facing narrow section of rear axle carrier.
