Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair

Fill and Bleed

Power steering/hydraulic level control: visually inspect for leaks and fluid level, top up fluid if necessary.

Visual inspection and leak test:

- Check connections, hoses and steering gear for traces of fluid.

Check fluid level:

- With engine switched off, check fluid level in expansion tank of power steering/level control system; if necessary top up hydraulic fluid to max. mark (1).

Note:

- If the fluid level has dropped to the min. mark (2), check the power steering/level control system for leaks. It is not enough merely to top up the fluid.
