54 10 010 Removing And Installing/Replacing Motor And Gear For Glass Tilt Roof Actuation (Z3 Coupe, M Coupe)

Lower roof liner (do not remove).







Exposing cable:
The cable (1) is secured in the corners with fabric adhesive tape (2) and on the stud bolts with cable ties (3).







The cable (1) is secured with fabric adhesive tape (2) and on the stud bolts with cable ties (3).







Unpinning plug:
Note down colors and contact numbers. Special tool 61 1 132 is required for unpinning.







Open cover (1).
Unpin both elbow contacts (2) with special tool 61 1 132 from cable plug (3).







Lever out cover (1) and remove from cable plug (2).







Unpin both elbow contacts (1) with special tool 61 1 132 from cable plug (2).







Releasing motor and gear:
Release screws (1) and remove motor/gear (2).

Installation:
Replace screws.
1AZ Motor on glass tilt sunroof frame
M5 6 Nm






Unpin cable plug from new motor/gear (1) as described above so that elbow contacts (2) are free.







Check screw plate (2) for damage. Press screw plate (2) upwards over thread
(1) and remove.







Thread (1) and plastic insert (2) must not be damaged.
