Removing And Installing/Replacing Airbag Module On Passenger Side


WARNING:
Observe safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners,
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.


WARNING:
After every airbag triggering, the passenger airbag cover must be replaced!
We cannot guarantee that the retaining straps of the airbag cover will not be damaged when the airbag is triggered.
If a damaged airbag cover is reused, we cannot guarantee that the retaining straps will work properly.







Remove passenger airbag cover and place on instrument panel.


NOTE: To assist removal, insert special tool 00 9 323 (plastic wedge) on both sides of catches into instrument panel and lift up cover.







Unfasten plug connection (1).







Release nuts (1) on left and right.

Installation Note:
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque, Passenger airbag module on instrument panel carrier 22 Nm.







Raise airbag module (1) on left and remove.







Remove retaining bracket (1) for retaining straps (2).
Detach retaining straps (2) with cover (3) from retaining bracket.
