SUBJECT
C53 MID Radio: Faults in Cassette Mode
MODEL
E39 (5 Series) from 09/2000 to 04/2001
E53 (X5) from 10/2000 to 04/2001
Vehicles with option 661 (Radio BMW Business)
SITUATION
After the vehicle is started:
^ The cassette operation is resumed with some delay (approximately 6 to 7 seconds).
^ The cassette plays at high speed for approximately 2 seconds.
Note:
This may occur only if the radio is left ON in the cassette mode when the ignition is turned OFF.
CAUSE
Software error in the radio
CORRECTION
Replace the radio.
For the replacement procedure, refer to Repair Instruction RA 65 11 030.
