Tips for Correct Installation of Xenon Bulbs

MODEL
E46 (3 Series) Vehicles with Xenon Headlamps, produced before 9/2001

SITUATION
When replacing or reinstalling the xenon bulb, the installation tips described below must be followed to ensure continuing reliable operation of the Xenon head lamps.

PROCEDURE





1. The high tension wires to the xenon bulb must be tucked down inside the lamp body.





2. The soft rubber boot must retain its normal curved shape. It must not be deformed in any way.





3. The brown ground wires routed to the splice behind the headlamp must be tied back so that they don't interfere with the soft rubber boot.
