Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Replacing Fuel Pressure Regulator (M52TU)


Follow instructions for checking fuel pressure, refer to Checking Delivery Pressure of Fuel Pump.
Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Turn off ignition.







Remove microfilter.
Open cable duct on lower section of microfilter housing (2) and feed out cable(s).
Release screws (1) and remove lower section of microfilter housing (2).







Remove cover from fuel injectors. Unclip screw caps and release screws.







Location:
The fuel pressure regulator is fitted to the injection block.
Pull off vacuum hose (1).







Observe position of vacuum connection. Turn and remove pressure regulator.

Installation:
Replace sealing rings (1 and 2). Ensure sealing faces are clean.







Installation:
Allow lug on circlip to engage in recesses of injector tube.

Read out fault memory of DME control module, check stored fault messages, rectify faults, cancel fault memory.
