Longlife Synthetic Engine Oil Label Missing
MODEL:
Z3 roadster 2.3, Z3 roadster 2.8 and Z3 coupe 2.8 (M52TU LEV engines)
Situation:
The "BMW Longlife Oil" label located on the radiator support has not been installed on the above listed models produced from 9/98.
Correction:
Install the BMW Longlife Oil label, P/N 01 00 1 470 408, on all Z3 roadster 2.3, Z3 roadster 2.8 and Z3 coupe vehicles produced from 9/98 (as shown below) if not already installed.
Procedure:
Wipe the center of the radiator support to provide a clean application surface.
Position the label on the radiator support as shown.
Align the top edge of the label approximately 1/2 inch (13 mm) in front of the angled bend in the radiator support (A).
Align the left and right edges of the label approximately 3-3/4inch (96 mm) from each hood bumper center point (B).
With the label positioned correctly, press firmly over the entire label surface for maximum adhesion.
Note:
It a "BMW Longlife Engine Oil" label is found on the plastic intake manifold cover an additional label is not needed on the radiator support.
