Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Service and Repair

Replacing Engine and Transmission For Electric Sun Roof:

NOTE:
Shut sun roof(neutral position).
Pull off relay for sun roof drive.
Shut sun roof with help of emergency operator.


If sun roof cannot be shut:
1. Remove faulty motor/transmission
2. Pull off relay for sun roof drive
3. Install new motor/transmission
4. Shut sun roof with help of emergency operator (neutral position)
5. Remove new motor/transmission again
6. Turn new motor/transmission to neutral position
7. Reinstall new motor/transmission
8. Insert relay for sun roof drive







Unclip plate

Remove screws (1 and 2).







Installation:
Replace screws (microencapsulated).
(1) = longer screw

Tightening torque = 2.8 Nm







Installation:
Build status up to mid-1994:
Turn motor/transmission into neutral position with help of emergency operator
Shaft center points, notch and pin must be aligned.

Build status from mid-1994:
Zero setting is no longer visible to naked eye. Zero setting is the cutout position which can be reached in both directions of rotation (power-driven).
Only approach position on longer travel (hysteresis).
