Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair


Replacing all solenoid valves





Arrangement of Solenoid Valves
1. Solenoid valve
2. Solenoid valve
3. Solenoid valve
4. Solenoid valve
5. Solenoid valve
6. Solenoid valve for converter. lockup clutch
7. Pressure regulator
8. Pulse sender for mean turbine speed
9. Pulse sender for output speed
10. Temperature sensor





Remove valve body.
Pull plugs (1 - 5) off of solenoid valves.
Do not pull off plug on wires.





Remove screws (6 - 9).
Take off holder (10).





Installation:
Install holder (10) with curved side facing solenoid valves.
Tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.





Pull out solenoid valves.
Installation: Solenoid valves are identical.





Remove solenoid valve (6).
Pull off plugs (1 and 2) and remove screw (3).





Take off holder (4).
Pull out solenoid valve.

Installation:
Install holder (4) with lightly curved side facing valve housing.
Identification: solenoid valve (6) has a white plug receptacle.
Tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications.
