Version With Slide

Remove exhaust assembly.
Remove heat shield (1).





Remove brackets (11 and 2) for exhaust assembly mounting (only if fitted).
Remove clamp (3).

Installation note:
Install clamp (3) with long collar (4) at rear.





Version with Joint Disk: Unscrew joint disk on transmission.





Installation note:
Replace stop nuts.
To prevent torsion stress on flexible coupling, only turn nuts or bolts on flange side - if possible.
For tightening torque, refer to Drive Propeller Shaft, Specifications.





Version with universal joint: Unscrew universal joint on transmission.

Installation note:
Replace stop nuts.
For tightening torque, refer to Drive Propeller Shaft, Specifications.





Release threaded sleeve (1) with Special Tool 26 1 04 by a few turns.

Installation note:
After installation, tighten threaded insert with Special Tool 26 1 040.
For tightening torque, refer to Drive Propeller Shaft, Specifications.





Caution: Mark position of universal joint relative to input flange of final drive prior to unscrewing propeller shaft in order to avoid complaints about drumming noise.





Unscrew universal joint on final drive.
Installation note: Replace stop nuts.
For tightening torque, refer to Drive Propeller Shaft, Specifications





Unscrew centre mount.

Installation note:
Preload centre mount in forwards direction by distance A = 4 - 6 mm.
For tightening torque, refer to Drive Propeller Shaft, Specifications.





Bend down propeller shaft at centre mount and pull off centering pin on manual transmission or universal joint on final drive.





Installation note:
Check centre (4).
Replace a damaged centre.
Coat centre with Molykote Longterm 2 prior to installation or equivalent.
