Torque Converter: Service and Repair

Remove or removing torque converter (A5S 310Z)

Remove transmission.





Use special tool 24 4 000 (assembly handles) to carefully remove torque converter from primary pump.

Caution: Escaping ATF.





The torque converter cannot be cleaned using conventional cleaning materials and must be replaced if damaged.

Note: Note designation of the torque converter.





Carefully guide openings on converter into primary pump by turning slightly. For this, use special tool 24 4 000 (assembly handles).

Caution: Make sure converter bearings and seal are not damaged while guiding in. Insert torque converter as far as stop.
