Version With Interlock/Shiftlock

Unscrew fillister head screw (Internal 3 mm hexagon).
Pull off handle with pull rod.





Installation:
Button not pressed.
Engage pin (1) of button in bore (2) of pull rod.





Remove clock or on-board display.
Remove bottom panelling.





Remove cover for selector lever.
Pull off EGS switch connector (3) and display light (4).





Installation:
Adjusting display slide of trim"
- Press adjuster (1) of display slide (2) against stop (3).
- Move preselector lever to "N" (Neutral) position.
- Insert trim on preselector lever and install.
- Move preselector lever to "P" (Park) position.
- Display slide (2) is now adjusted.





Pull plug (6).
Lever out retainer (7).
Remove cable from counter support and detach towards front.
Unhook cable from eye.





Installation:
Guide turning lock with bore in beads.
Mount cable in this position.





Unscrew bolt (1).





Unscrew holder.
Disconnect interlock cable.

Installation:
Adjust interlock cable.





Replacing interlock cable, refer to section on replacing complete steering lock, refer to Starting and Charging.





Disconnect plug-in connection for shiftlock.





Unscrew mounting bolts.

Installation: For tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Specifications





Remove mounting block and seal.

Installation:
Check condition of seal, replacing if necessary.
Adjust selector lever, refer to Shift Linkage A/T, Adjustments.





Assembly and adjustment of interlock cable:
Move selector lever into P setting (most forward position).





Connect cable eyelet on pin of lever.





Mount cable on bearing shell using holder and bolt.
It should be possible to move cable in holder in axial direction easily.





Turn ignition key to "zero" position.
Remove ignition key.





Check function of interlock and shiftlock.
Press locking lever down and tighten cable mounting bolt.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm





Check function of interlock and shiftlock.
