Installing Exchange Transmission

Installing exchange transmission (A5S 31OZ)





Remove transmission, refer to Removal and Installation

Caution: Always clean oil cooler and pipes with compressed air and flush twice with ATF before installing an exchange transmission.

Transmission identification/code on data plate or label.





Transfer transport holder (1).





Transfer lever (2), bracket (3) and wire holder for oxygen sensors.
Tightening torque, refer to Automatic Transmission Specifications.





Caution: Automatic transmissions are supplied filled with ATF.

Versions with oil filler pipe: Remove plug from oil sump before installing the oil filler pipe.
Catch escaping ATF in a clean container.
Pour in ATF using special tool 24 0 080 after installing transmission.
