Tie Rod End: Service and Repair

Replacing left or right tie rod end

Caution:
Adjust front-wheel alignment after installation, refer to Alignment.
Removing front wheel, refer to Wheels.





Loosen nut.

Installation:
For tightening torque, refer to Specifications.





Unscrew nut and pull off tie rod using Special Tool 32 070.

Installation:
Remove grease from pin and bore. Replace self-locking nut.
For tightening torque, refer to Specifications.





Determine distance (A) - makes wheel alignment easier.
Unscrew tie rod end while counterholding on tie rod.

Installation:
Mount clamping ring (1).
Screw in tie-rod end to distance (A).
