Convertible Top Latch Position Switch / Sensor: Service and Repair

REPLACING MICRO-SWITCH - CONVERTIBLE TOP LOCKED DOWN OVER DEAD CENTER POINT:

- Left convertible top lock removed.




S7: Micro-switch "convertible top locked down"
- Micro-switch trips whenever convertible top is closed.
S8: Micro-switch "convertible top over dead center point"
- Micro-switch trips whenever convertible top is raised beyond dead center point.
1. Clip for micro-switch (S8)




- Unfasten screws (1) and lift off cover (2).




- Pull off micro-switch (S7). Lift out clip (1) and pull off micro-switch (S8).




- Unfasten cable connector (1). Remove micro-switches (S7) and (S8).

Installation:
- Note routing of cable (2).




- Guide pins (1) on micro-switches (S7) and (S8) must not be damaged.
