Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair

- Steering wheel removed -







WARNING!
Conform with safety precautions!
Incorrect handling can activate airbag and result in injury.







Lift out lock (1) with a screwdriver.

Installation:
Insert spring (2) in bore and connect lock.
Press down on lock until it engages.







Disconnect plug.
Unscrew nuts (1) and take off contact ring.

Installation:
Guide horn wires through square opening.
Lock nuts with varnish.







NOTE: A new contact ring is arrested in centre position with a screw. This screw must be removed after contact ring has been screwed to steering wheel.







As of Mod. 94:
Remove cover.
Unfasten ground wire.







Unfasten screws and remove contact ring.


NOTE: Do not remove locking device (1) until contact ring is screwed to steering wheel.


Press both ends together and remove locking device (1).
