Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair
CAUTION: Fuel in fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3 - 5 bar)! Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.On Version With Hose Clips:
- Unfasten hose clips. Remove hose (1) and (2).
Installation Note: Fuel hoses and hose clips must be replaced whenever they are removed!
On Vehicles With A Compressed Air Connection:
- On vehicles with a compressed air connection (1) on the fuel rail, blow fuel back into tank with brief jet of compressed air (max. 3 bar).
On Version With Fuel Hoses Connected:
- Release fuel hoses with special tool 16 1 050 and remove hoses.
Installation Note: Coat O-ring for assembly with anti-friction agent.
- Check O-ring in fuel hose and sealing face of fuel lines for damage, replacing components if necessary.
On Vehicles With Screw-mounted Fuel Line:
On vehicles with screw-mounted fuel line (2):
- Follow installation instructions (1) and (2)!
Installation Instruction 1:
- Fuel hose (1) and hose clips must be replaced whenever they are removed!
Installation instruction 2:
- Always replace O-ring. Fit O-ring with anti-friction coating.
- Check sealing face of O-ring for scoring and dirt, clean the sealing face and, if necessary, replace fuel inlet pipe.
Tightening Torque,

SEAL OFF FUEL HOSES:
Fuel Hoses With Hose Clamps:
- Seal off hoses with special tool 13 3 010.
Installation Note: Fuel hoses and hose clips must be replaced whenever they are removed!
Fuel Hoses With Quick-release Couplings:
- Release fuel hoses with special tool 16 1 050 and remove hoses.
Installation Note: Coat O-ring for assembly with antifriction agent. Check O-ring in fuel hose and sealing face of fuel lines for damage, replacing components if necessary.
- Seal off fuel hoses (1) with special tool 13 5 281.
- Seal off fuel lines (2) with special tool 13 5 282.
Installation:
- Check O-ring in fuel hose and sealing surfaces on fuel lines for damage; replace components if necessary.
- Coat O-ring for assembly with anti-friction agent.
