Replacing Fuel Pressure Regulator

Comply with instructions for fuel pressure test. Component Tests and General Diagnostics

- Switch off ignition.

Version 1: Fuel Pressure Regulator On The Injector Strip:




- Remove injection tube with injector valves.
- Remove vacuum hose.
- Remove circlip.




- Note position of vacuum connection. Rotate pressure regulator and remove.

Installation Note: Replace sealing rings (1 and 2). Ensure sealing faces are clean.




Installation Note: Allow lug on circlip to engage in recesses in injector tube.

- Performing function check of the Digital Motor Electronics.
- Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.

Version 2: Fuel Pressure Regulator On Base Of Vehicle:




- Unfasten screws.
- Remove cover.




- Pull off vacuum hose (1).
- Remove locking bracket (2).
- Remove fuel pressure regulator.

CAUTION: Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
