Balancing wheel dynamically (wheel removed)





Remove old balance weights, stones in treads and larger pieces of dirt.
Check pressure and condition of tires for damage and flat spots (caused by long standing time of car on tires which have been run hot) and, if necessary, check rim and tire for face and radial runout, refer to Checking Front and Rear Wheel For Face and Radial Runout.





Use suitable wheel centre supplied with corresponding balancing machine.

Caution:
In order to avoid transformation errors, the wheel must be mounted on the balancing machine in the same manner as subsequently mounted on the car (e.g. valve facing down).
Balance wheel according to instructions supplied with balancing machine.





For light alloy rims, pry off side of tire from rim flange at an appropriate position using a tire clamp (refer to Tools and Equipment) and insert a clip.
Remove tire clamp and slide a balance weight underneath clip until it engages.
