Checking Rear Disks For Runout and Thickness Variation
NOTE: Rear wheels removed.
- Unscrew bolts (1). Remove and suspend brake caliper from vehicle.
- Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to Tightening. Specifications
- Secure brake disk with 2 screws, noting screw lengths to ensure this does not butt against brake shoe expander.
- Fit special tool 00 2 510 (dial gauge) with magnetic stand.
- Apply dial-gauge tip on outer edge of brake disk with light preload.
- Turn brake disk slowly and read lateral runout, refer to Dimensions. Specifications
- Measure thickness deviation at about 8 points on brake surface using a micrometer, refer to Dimensions. Specifications
