Rear Brakes

NOTE:
- Remove wheels.
- Remove and clean brake linings if necessary. Service and Repair

CAUTION:
- If thickness of brake disks falls below a minimum value (MIN TH), the old brake lining set can still be used, refer to Dimensions. Specifications
- New brake linings must not be installed unless brake disk thickness is greater than or equal to minimum thickness (MIN TH), refer to Dimensions. Specifications

Procedure
- Brake disks must be exchanged in pairs (i.e. according to axle).
- When work is complete, adjust handbrake.





- Unscrew bolts (1).
- Remove and suspend brake caliper from vehicle.

NOTE: Brake hose remains connected.

- Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to Tightening. Specifications





- Unscrew bolts and take off brake disk.
- Installation:
- Brake disks on M3 are directional.
An uneven final digit on the parts number designates the left brake disk and an even final digit designates the right brake disk.
