Charging Valve (Early)
CHARGING SOLENOID VALVE - TWO WAY BOSCH
Activation of the charging valve in the hydraulic unit is an output function of the ASC control module. The early version ASC +T system uses power steering fluid as the apply pressure for the ASC system during controlled braking. The solenoid valves control the flow of hydraulic fluid to the plunger valves in the hydraulic unit. The pressure of the hydraulic fluid in the system is maintained at approx. 120 - 150 Bar. As the system pressure drops during ASC controlled braking, the control module will activate the charging valve to build the system pressure back to its operating range.
The charging valve is supplied with 12 volts (operating power) from the solenoid valve relay. The ASC control module supplies the ground to activate the valve when the system pressure drops to 120 Bar.
