Situation:

The fabric of the convertible top may discolor or stain due to environmental effects even though the car is washed on a regular basis.

The BMW Convertible Top Clean Kit, part number 83 12 9 407 806, contains a convertible top cleaner that is designed for occasional use on discolored or stained areas. This should be used when necessary to clean parts of the top that may require it.

After cleaning and thoroughly drying the top, an application of the impregnating agent contained in the kit is recommended. This will restore the water and dirt resistance properties of the top material.

Customers should be encouraged to use the BMW Convertible Top Clean Kit. This kit contains the shampoo, window cleaner, top cleaner, and impregnating agent necessary to keep the top clean and in good condition.
